Frequently asked questions about electric boxsprings
At Revor, an electric boxspring starts from €3,169 for the Elektrobox 23, up to €5,419 for the Ascot Elektrobox Linear 23. The price mainly depends on the motor type, the number of sections in the sleeping surface and the finish you choose.
That depends on both the material and the construction of your mattress. Pocket spring, latex and memory foam mattresses are suitable material-wise, with the exception of extra-firm mattresses, which don't flex enough with the hinged sleeping surface. With a 2-person electric boxspring, there's another factor: it has two separately adjustable sleeping surfaces, and a regular, unbroken 2-person mattress simply can't handle that. Not sure? Ask your local Revor retailer for advice.
What is an electric boxspring? An electric boxspring lets you adjust into any sleeping or sitting position you like using a motor, unlike a fixed boxspring, which has no moving parts. A wireless remote control moves the head and/or leg section, powered on most Revor models by a strong, quiet linear motor. That means you can read, watch TV or unwind in whichever position feels right at that moment, without stacking up pillows to get there.
On the models with a linear motor, the Elektrobox Elite 23, the Elektrobox Hercules Linear 25 and the Ascot Elektrobox Linear 23/28, each sleeping surface can hold up to 250 kg. That's comfortably enough for two people, even at a higher body weight or combined with an extra mattress protector.
No need to worry: every model has a safe emergency function that automatically returns the boxspring to a flat position, with some models even backed up by a battery.
In a Zero Gravity position, your head and leg section are lifted slightly at the same time, so your weight is spread more evenly and your spine, joints and muscles can fully relax, similar to the weightless feeling as a plane takes off. At Revor, you'll find this feature on the Elektrobox Elite 23 and the Ascot Elektrobox Linear models.<
The five models mainly differ in motor power, features and build height. The Elektrobox 23 is the entry model, with a standard motor and a wireless remote control. The Elektrobox Elite 23 and the Ascot Elektrobox Linear (23 or 28 cm) have a strong, quiet linear motor that carries up to 250 kg per sleeping surface, with extra features like Memory and Zero Gravity. The Elektrobox Hercules Linear 25 is the only 5-section model: its sleeping surface consists of two parts joined by connecting legs, for even finer adjustment, likewise driven by a powerful linear motor up to 250 kg per sleeping surface.
The number of sections shows how many parts the sleeping surface of an electric boxspring can move in. On a 4-section model, such as the Elektrobox 23 or the Elektrobox Elite 23, you adjust the head and leg section separately. On a 5-section model, such as the Elektrobox Hercules Linear 25, there's an extra hinge for even finer control of your sleeping or sitting position, for example extra support in your lower back.
Not just like that. A two-person electric boxspring has two separately adjustable sleeping surfaces, one per sleeping side. Put one unbroken 2-person mattress on top, and it can't move along the moment just one side adjusts: the mattress on the other side simply gets pulled up or down with it. So you either need two separate single mattresses, or a mattress specifically split at the head and foot end for electric boxsprings, so each half can move independently. If you're not sure, check with a Revor retailer which options fit your electric boxspring.
