How does the mattress test work?

In 8 quick steps, we map out your sleep profile. We ask about the size you need, your height and weight (which together determine the right firmness), your sleeping position (which determines the zone layout), whether you tend to feel warm or cold at night (which determines the comfort layer), any pain you experience and your budget. Based on that combination, the test works out which core type and firmness suit your body best. It's the same firmness curve our Revor retailers use for personal advice. No guesswork, no doubts: within 2 minutes, you'll have a well-founded, personal mattress recommendation.

What happens after your mattress recommendation?

Got your personal recommendation? Then you can order straight away online, or try it out first at a Revor retailer near you. They'll give you expert advice and let you test the recommended model for yourself. Still torn between two models within your firmness recommendation? Discover the difference between Pocket spring, Anatomic and Latex mattresses. Every online purchase comes with a right of withdrawal; ask your retailer about the terms that apply in store.

Waking up with back pain?

Your mattress plays a bigger role than you might think. If you're waking up with a stiff back or sore muscles, it might simply be a matter of wrong support. Revor works with physiotherapists and orthopaedists to develop mattresses that truly support your body, from neck to hips.

How does the test determine your ideal firmness?

Your height and weight together determine how much support your body needs. If your mattress is too soft, you sink in too deep and your back spends the night out of its natural line. If it is too firm, it gives too little, so your body has to adapt to the mattress instead of the other way around.

Our firmness curve puts your height and weight side by side and picks the right firmness in between: soft, medium, firm or extra firm. Your comfort layer counts too: visco, latex and Waterfreshfoam feel naturally softer, so you will need a higher firmness sooner than with Hybrid or HD-Foam.

The mattress test does the maths for you, based on your exact height, weight and sleeping position. Prefer to look it up in the charts yourself, with an explanation of each firmness level? Read our guide to mattress firmness by height and weight.

Feeling discomfort while you sleep? A good mattress can offer support, but if complaints persist, please see a specialist.

Frequently asked questions about the mattress test

The online mattress test at revor.be/en/mattresses/mattress-test/ helps you find the right mattress in just a few steps. You enter your height, weight, and sleeping position and receive personal advice tailored to you. This way you avoid a wrong choice and can compare effectively or visit a dealer.

The right mattress depends on your body weight, height, sleeping position, and personal comfort preference. At Revor, you start with the online mattress test on revor.be. Based on your weight and height, our firmness curve points you to the ideal firmness: soft, medium, firm, or extra firm. Next, you choose a core type, pocket springs or latex, and a comfort layer to match. Still not sure? A Revor dealer near you can offer personal advice.

Good spinal support makes a real difference. Revor develops its mattresses in collaboration with physiotherapists and orthopaedists. Mattresses with anatomical pocket springs and 7 comfort zones offer targeted support for each part of the body. A mattress that's too soft lets the back sink in, while one that's too firm forces an unnatural posture. The mattress test helps you determine the right firmness. Experiencing discomfort while sleeping? A good mattress can offer support, but if discomfort persists, always consult a specialist.

Our mattress test is built on the four factors that matter most: your height and weight for firmness, your sleeping position for zoning, whether you sleep hot for the comfort layer, and any discomfort you experience. That reliably leads you to the right type and firmness. What an online test can't judge is how a mattress feels to you personally. So take your result to a Revor retailer and lie on the mattress for around ten minutes. Above all, the test saves you from trying out the wrong mattresses.

On a mattress that's too soft, you sink in too deep and your spine stays under strain all night, which can cause discomfort in your lower back. On a mattress that's too firm, your body doesn't sink in enough and has to adapt to the mattress in an unnatural way, which can put strain on your neck and lower back. Neither extreme is ideal. The right firmness matters more than "as firm as possible". Experiencing persistent discomfort? Be sure to consult a specialist.

As a guideline: if you weigh 85 kg and are 1.82 m tall, Medium is the right firmness. At 130 kg and 1.90 m, you end up at Extra Firm. The material of the comfort layer also plays a part: Visco, latex and Waterfresh Foam are naturally softer, so you'll go up a firmness level sooner than with Hybrid Foam or HD Foam, which feel firmer. Our firmness curve plots height against weight, and the mattress test does the calculation for you.

Because your sleeping position determines which zones of the mattress carry the most load. As a side sleeper, your shoulder and hip bear most of your weight across a small surface area, which means you need a softer shoulder zone. As a front sleeper, you need a flatter and firmer surface instead, to stop your pelvis from sinking too far and arching your lower back. Your height and weight determine the firmness; your sleeping position determines the zoning and the comfort layer — which is why the test asks about both.

Firmness determines how much a mattress gives under your body weight. Revor uses a firmness curve where your weight and height together determine the ideal firmness. Mattresses with a comfort layer of visco, latex, or Waterfresh Foam are naturally softer than those with hybrid foam or HD foam, at the same firmness rating. So it's always the combination of core and comfort layer that determines the final sleep comfort.
