160 or 180 cm: which double mattress suits you?
Mattress 160x200
A popular size for a double bed. Roomy enough for two, without your bed taking over the whole bedroom.
Mattress 180x200
90 cm each, just as much as a single bed. Ideal if one of you is a restless sleeper or if you keep different hours.
One large mattress or two separate ones? Both work. In one 160 or 180 cm mattress you can choose a different firmness for each side, with a maximum of one firmness level difference. With two separate single mattresses of 80 or 90 cm you have complete freedom: firmness, materials and comfort can all differ. Do choose mattresses of the same height, so your bed stays nicely level.
Sharing is lovely. Except when it comes to your sleeping comfort.
Which mattress for your double bed?
You have picked the width. Now for comfort. Every size is available in three mattress types:
- Pocket spring mattress: 7 comfort zones, responsive support and good airflow.
- Anatomic mattress: our most ergonomic range, with 7 zones that follow the shape of your body. The same mattresses the riders of Alpecin-Premier Tech sleep on.
- Latex mattress: natural latex, enveloping and resilient.

Double mattresses: frequently asked questions
A double mattress is usually 160 or 180 cm wide and 200 cm long. Revor makes double mattresses in 160x200 and 180x200 cm as standard. Looking for a special size? Your Revor distributor can help.
Choose 160x200 if your bedroom is on the smaller side or if you like sleeping close together. Choose 180x200 if you both like plenty of space: that gives you 90 cm each. Always measure your bed frame or box spring first: the mattress should be the same size.
Both work. With one 160 or 180 cm mattress you sleep without a seam in the middle, and you can still choose a different firmness for each side, with a maximum of one firmness level difference. With two single mattresses of 80 or 90 cm you have complete freedom: firmness, materials and comfort can all differ. Do choose two mattresses of the same height. A topper over both mattresses turns them into one surface again.
Do you differ in weight or sleeping position? If the difference is small, you can choose a different firmness for each side of one double mattress, with a maximum of one firmness level difference. If the difference is bigger, two separate mattresses are the best choice: each of you picks your own firmness and materials. Just make sure they are the same height. Buy a fitted sheet in the same size as your mattress: 160x200 or 180x200 cm. A 160 cm mattress usually goes with a 200x200 or 200x220 cm duvet, a 180 cm mattress with a 240x220 cm duvet. For the fitted sheet, also check the height of your mattress.
Choose a box spring mattress in the same size as your box spring. Every Revor mattress in 160x200 or 180x200 therefore fits a box spring or slatted base of that size. At your Revor distributor you can also view a matching box spring straight away.
